Overview

The fibers, either of single mode or multimode type, are positioned in a loose tube made of a high modulus plastic. The tubes are filled with a water resistant filling compound. A corrugate steel tape armoured sometimes sheathed with high density polyethylene (HDPE) for cable with high fiber count, lacates in the central loose tube fully filled. Aramid yarn serves as the tensile strength member and strands into a compact, circular cable core. The corrugated steel tape armor applies longitudinally over the cable core, which is filled with a filling compound and water blocking tape to protect it from water ingress. The cable finishes with an HDPE sheath.
